Topic: Ten Most Distinguishing Habits/Skills To Acquire For A Holistic Living - Part 1
Hello Friends
It's Dr. Jerry - the First popularly called Dr. JTF.
My one word for 2019 is BELIEVE and I believe in people more than they believe in themselves and my sincere hope is that if you believe in yourself as much as I believe in you-you'll be able to change the World starting from your own corner, right where you are.
My Friday Happy Hour Program is designed to help you on your journey and today I'm doing a presentation on "The Ten Most Distinguishing Habits/Skills You Need To Possess For A Holistic Living and in order to navigate life seamlessly.
These may be hard to learn but they will pay off forever and as always my friends as you're watching this video, if you hear something that really resonates with you leave it in the comments section, it's much more likely to stick with you.
So without taking more time, let's get into the groove
Skill Number One - SPEAKING UP
This is one habit that you need to acquire or learn in order to be yourself.
Whether it is in Public Speaking or just standing your space with your truth, it is something you would want to do whether you like it or not
So you need to get very comfortable with it.
It may take a while for it to become your constant partner but it is an asset that will last you your whole life.
So why not start today?
Speak the truth you know it doesn't matter whose ox is gored.
Speak truth to power, it doesn't matter who is occupying the position
Speak the truth about the social situations in your area, it doesn't matter who is the constituted authority there
Say no to lies and tactful diplomacy
It may hurt sometimes, but your conscience will always be clear and you would have no skeletons in your closet
Skill Number Two - BEING HONEST WITH YOURSELF
We are living in a world where so much packaging has done more harm than good.
People are faking to be who they are not, they are faking to be living the kind of life they would love to live but are not living at the moment; they are faking to live in Toronto while they are actually staying in their remote hamlet, they are faking to live in Duplexes when they cannot afford the rent to a face -me- I - face - you room without toilet and kitchen. They are faking to own Lamborghini when they don't even own a bicycle.
So much faking in the world right now - fake butts, fake eyelashes, fake eyelids, fake boobs, fake dicks, fake vagina, fake fingernails, fake toenails, fake human hair - so much faking
It's even worse off with business persons who are in competition with others.
They lie to themselves over and over again
Mine is faster
Mine is cheaper
Mine is more seamless
Mine is better
Mine is this
Mine is that
But no yours is not and the reason it's not is that whoever it is you're competing with it's very likely they're just ignoring you.
So, what to do in this era of dishonesty and so much faking is to be brutally honest with yourself.
Be the real and original you, this does not stop you from aspiring to own or be anything you want to be.
It only asks you to be realistic while being optimistic
When the Law of attraction Manifestation Gurus ask you to "Act as if" in whatever it is you want to manifest it's not like they are asking you to be physical about it, what they mean is that you should develop the right feeling, the right emotions, and the right mindset to bring your desire to you.
And if you're in business, as an Entrepreneur, you really need to be careful how you cut yourself short in order to beat the competition so that you don't send yourself out of business
You need to be brutally honest with yourself and the business. What you know, you know; also acknowledge that what you don't know, you also don't know but you've got to know your business better than anybody else
Skill Number Three - HAVING CONFIDENCE
I don't know if you'd agree with me on this but in many ways, one of the key factors to legendary success isn't your natural ability (we all really have natural ability one way or the other)
it's not whether you have the right product (assuming you're an Entrepreneur)
it's not whether you're in the right field (assuming you're a Professional)
it's not whether you've had a blessed background;
it's not even whether you have the right IQ
It's all about whether you have the confidence to play the game
I want you to really think about and deconstruct and play around with the word, maybe later tonight in your journal
I want you to deconstruct this idea of confidence and though it seems like a very simple word just think about it.
In your own life when you have the confidence or we could even call it fire when you have that fire within you, that confidence, that interior bravery you almost have this power to do whatever it takes to get your brave vision done
You see in this world being successful is not really about what you know in many ways or your strategy in your business or your ability in your life
it's about this thing called confidence and we have all had these times in our lives when we are full of confidence and what other people see as a problem we simply do see as an opportunity; where other people see it as a stumbling block or a wall and we see it as a stepping stone or a ladder to climb up to find the solution.
And so confidence is simply something that you really want to wire into the very fabrics of your body so that you'd be oozing it whenever you are confronted with any challenge
Confidence is a muscle and to develop it you need to practice it, you need to focus on it because the more you focus on it and practice it, the more you train it and the stronger your confidence grows
And I just have to say it again when you are at a place in your life when there is an ongoing steady stream of confidence moving through your mindset moving through your heart, it sets you up for heroic achievements in your business and also makes you achieve the remarkable in your life.
Skill Number Four - LISTENING
Nelson Mandela of blessed memory is a particularly special case study in the leadership world because he was universally regarded as a great leader.
You can take other personalities and depending on the nation you go to we have different opinions about other personalities but Nelson Mandela across the world was universally regarded as a great leader.
He was actually the son of a tribal chief and he was asked one day how did he learn to be a great leader and he responded that he would go with his father to tribal meetings and he clearly remembered two things when his father would meet with other elders
one they would always sit in a circle
and two - his father was always the last to speak
You'll be told your whole life that you need to learn to listen I would say that you need to learn to be the last to speak
I see it in boardrooms every day of the week even people who consider themselves good leaders who may actually be decent leaders will walk into a room and say here's the problem here's what I think is the solution but I'm interested in your opinion let's go around the room.
But sorry, it's too late
The skill to hold your opinions to yourself until everyone has spoken does two things
one it gives everybody else the feeling that they have been heard, it gives everyone else the ability to feel that they have contributed
and two you get the benefit of hearing what everybody else has to think before you render your opinion.
The skill is really to keep your opinions to yourself
if you agree with somebody don't nod yes
if you disagree with somebody don't nod no
simply sit there and take it all in and the only thing you're allowed to do is ask questions so that you can understand
what they mean and why they have the opinion that they have
You must understand from where they are speaking
why they have the opinion they have not just what they are saying and at the end you will get your turn.
It sounds easy but it's not
Practice being the last to speak that's what Nelson Mandela did and that distinguished him all over the World
Skill Number Five - MANAGING YOUR TIME
This is one of the greatest challenges of this our now-generation.
It is so much so that we are now more involved in just gliding through the day gradually, we are simply all about entertainment through television, through social media, through every way possible.
We are living in a generation of the dumbing down of our responsibilities because we have traded effectiveness for busyness.
Business statistics say we are busier than any other generation we have seen in the last three to four hundred years we are so busy that we don't even find the time for ourselves and those we love
And yet when the chips are down, we can rarely produce the evidence of our busyness that is what we have actually produced
We are just as busy as we can be and we think because we're busy we're effective but I want you to challenge your schedule for a minute and ask yourself are you really being effective or is your life cluttered with all kinds of stuff that demands you and drains you and taxes you and stops you from being your highest and best self and are you substituting busyness and all the chaos that goes along with business from being effective
Let me tell you something, a bunch of scientists got together they begin to do some research and they begin to determine that 80% of the things we do are busy things that we do in an area that is not effective that the average person only spends 20% of their time doing the things that they are really gifted at creating, things that they are passionate about or excited to do and the rest of it is all the dismal dumb stuff
And they concluded that if all we have to do in order to survive are just the crazy stuff that we're doing wonder then what would happen if we would go from doing 80% of things that are busy but not effective and 20% of the things that are really effective if we would switch those numbers around and only give 20% of our time to the things that we have to do and 80% of our time to the things that we were created to do, wonder what would happen to your life
Now think about it a minute
For me, for instance, there's a lot of things you could take from me and I could make them back
you could take my suit I can get another one
you can take my car I could get another one
you could take my house I could get another house
but when you take my time you have taken something from me that is totally irreplaceable.
We take all kind of classes for money management,
we know how to manage our money, we know how to repair our houses, we're working on our hair and our bodies and all of this kind of stuff we do everything except the most important thing which is to value our time.
It takes time to be creative.
You were meant to be creative you were created in the likeness and the
image of a Creator and in that likeness and in that image you have creativity residing inside of you because you are a co-creator
if you had time you would be creative but in the absence of time and with busyness and cluttered schedules, it is difficult to be creative.
You have all manners of music stored in your smartphone or device, all manners of videos that you watch, you hardly have any time to be quiet, to be silent, to be still and listen to the still small voice on the inside of you
You are always rocking, always rushing from one hurried appointment to another and then when you are spent completely in the day, you crash land on your bed to catch some fitful sleep only to wake up the following morning in a hangover and continue the same chase for the rat which you can never catch
This is the time for you to slow down and make haste slowly.
This is the time for you to review your time schedule and know just exactly what you are doing with your time and which of these things is productive and which is not.
This is the time for you to make that switch - Give 80% of your time to things that are productive and then the remaining 20% to the dumb things that you have to do just because you have to do them
It is time to be creative and express the God-given talent in you
I appreciate the time you have spent with me and I hope you have learnt something new do.
Please drop us a comment on which of these habits are making the waves in your life right now and which you need to start cultivating immediately.
